Helsinki, January 23, 2024 – The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) officially announced the addition of five substances of very high concern (SVHC), bringing the total number of substances on the SVHC list (also known as the Candidate List) to 240. The complete SVHC list can be accessed here.
ECHA has also updated the existing Candidate List entry for dibutyl phthalate to include its endocrine-disrupting properties for the environment. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) was added to the SVHC Candidate List in October 2008 in the first batch.

For products exported to the European Union that contain SVHC substances exceeding 0.1%, companies are obligated to fulfill information transmission and SCIP reporting requirements. If the export volume of SVHC substances exceeding 0.1% exceeds 1 ton per year, SVHC notification must also be conducted.
Wajibu na Wajibu wa Kampuni
Kampuni zinahitaji kufahamu wajibu na wajibu wao kuhusu vitu vya SVHC katika bidhaa zao:
- Wakati maudhui ya SVHC katika makala yanapozidi 0.1%, wasambazaji wake lazima wampe mpokeaji wa makala maelezo kuhusu matumizi yake salama;
- Kwa ombi la mtumiaji, taarifa za kutosha, ikiwa ni pamoja na majina ya vitu na viwango vyake, lazima zitolewe bila malipo ndani ya siku 45;
- Ikiwa kiasi cha mauzo ya nje kinazidi tani 1 kwa mwaka, waagizaji na watengenezaji wa makala wanahitaji kukamilisha arifa kwa ECHA ndani ya miezi 6 kuanzia tarehe ya kuzidi kiwango cha juu;
- Kuanzia tarehe 5 Januari 2021, vitu kutoka kwenye orodha ya SVHC vilivyopo katika makala katika viwango vya zaidi ya 0.1% vinahitaji kuwasilishwa kwa hifadhidata ya SCIP ya ECHA; na
- Bidhaa zilizoorodheshwa katika orodha ya SVHC zinaweza kujumuishwa katika Orodha ya Uidhinishaji katika siku zijazo, na kuhitaji makampuni kutuma maombi ya kuidhinishwa ili kuendelea na matumizi yao.
