Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Menampilkan Paparan Lebih Cerah dan Lebih Cekap

Samsung is gearing up to make major advancements in display technology with its upcoming Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to reports from Korea, the flagship device will incorporate Color Filter on Encapsulation (CoE) technology, which promises enhanced brightness and efficiency.

CoE technology moves to slab-style devices

CoE technology, already used in Samsung’s Galaxy Fold lineup since the Z Fold 3, is set to debut in the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This marks the first time the innovation will be applied to a slab-style device that doesn’t fold. The report specifically mentions the S26 Ultra, suggesting that the standard Galaxy S26 and S26+ models may not receive this upgrade.

The rumour also hints that CoE technology will eventually expand to more candy bar-style smartphones, similar to how Gorilla Glass Armor started as an Ultra-exclusive feature before becoming more widespread.

How CoE enhances the display

CoE technology replaces traditional polarizers with colour filters, improving light transmittance and reducing the thickness of the OLED panel. Polarizers, while effective at reducing reflections, decrease brightness by over 50%. By eliminating the need for polarizers, CoE allows for brighter displays without the same limitations.

To address reflections previously managed by polarizers, Samsung is introducing a black Pixel Define Layer (PDL). The black PDL minimizes internal light reflections within the panel, ensuring optimal performance.

These advancements will make the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s screen both bright and sleek to use. The S24 Ultra can hit 2,600 nits at its peak. With CoE and black PDL tech, the S26 Ultra may go past this, giving a top look indoors and out. Samsung’s plan to use CoE tech shows its aim to lead in phone screen design. This tool may stay with the Ultra for now, but talk hints it could spread to more phones soon. With the S26 Ultra set to come out next year, hopes are high for a screen that sets new goals in shine, use, and feel. Samsung may once more lead the pack with these bold tweaks.
