드라이 런

A dry run occurs whenever a truck operator fails to complete the shipment’s pickup or delivery successfully. In such circumstances, the full price for the additional trip will be charged to or by the truck driver.

Dry runs can occur for a variety of reasons, such as when no release of the shipment has been made. In the event that the truck operator comes to pick up a shipment and it is not released for pickup, the truck operator is required to charge for a dry run. Port congestion is another reason that can cause dry runs. Occasionally, particularly in peak season at times prior to the Chinese New Year, ports may be very congested that truck operators can find it difficult or impossible to pick up a shipment upon the initial effort.
