Volkswagen has begun pre-sales of the new ID.7 Tourer (earlier post). Following the new ID.7 fastback saloon, new Passat and new Tiguan, the first all-electric Volkswagen estate-car is already the fourth new mid-sized model in just a few months. The business and leisure all-rounder can now be configured and ordered at prices starting at €54,795.
The ID.7 Tourer was designed specifically for the European market. At the start of pre-sales, the electric Volkswagen can be configured as the ID.7 Tourer Pro with a 210 kW (286 PS) electric drive and a battery with an energy content of 77 kWh (net). The WLTP range is up to 607 km (377 miles). The ID.7 Tourer Pro has a top speed of up to 180 km/h and can take new energy on board with a capacity up to 175 kW at DC quick-charging stations. With this power, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in about 28 minutes.

The new APP550 rear-wheel drive unit achieves its high torque (550 N·m)due to an enhanced stator with a higher effective number of windings and a larger wire cross-section. The rotor as its counterpart is equipped with more powerful permanent magnets that has a higher load capacity. The drive was also reinforced to withstand the considerable torques produced.

The ID.7 Tourer and the ID.7 fastback saloon are produced at the Volkswagen plant in Emden in the north of Germany.
